About us

Ravenwood Farm is situated in the South Peace River area of northeast BC, with a view of the Rocky Mountains to the west, and rolling farm lands to the east.

REGENERATIVE FARM

With animal welfare top of mind, we use low stress livestock handling techniques and natural horsemanship principles.

To diversify our farm products, we have gardens and extensive plantings of berry bushes and fruit trees that often make it through the 40 below temperatures we sometimes get.

VISION & MISSION

Our primary goal is to have a profitable and ecologically responsible farm that is a joy to operate and is resilient in spite of the many challenges agriculture faces today.

Inspired by recent extreme weather events and the impacts of climate change we are currently extending our water and soil management efforts using the five tenets of regenerative agriculture and the principles of permaculture. For more information on this aspect of our operation email us.

Our story

Way back in 1980 it was possible in BC to buy certain crown land, prove it up and get title. What you see today is the result of a successful bid on the initial 320 acres of 'bush', 40 years later. Ravenwood Farm is situated in the South Peace River area of northeast BC, with a view of the Rocky Mountains to the west, and rolling farm lands to the east. Boreal forest officially, grey wooded soil, mostly ranching country. We are engaged in perennial agriculture, hay land and pasture land, raising cows, draft horses and quarter horses. Summers are short, with very long days; winters exactly the opposite. We try to respect our land and livestock and improve the soils and woodlands.

BENEFITS

Unlike grain finished beef that is found in most grocery stores, Ravenwood Farm grass-fed beef is raised without hormone implants, antibiotics, or any feed derived from GMO products.

The human health benefits of grassfed beef are well documented. For further information contact us by email for links and references.

The animal and environmental benefits of the practice of grazing livestock is similarly well documented.
